Ford Center
Apart from the many acts that have played here since it was built as part of the MAPS program, the Ford Center is now the home of the Oklahoma City Blazers, the CHL champs of many of the past 12 years. When the Blazers are not playing, you might see such acts as Cher, Tim McGraw, ZZ Top, or even the Xtreme Cyclists playing to packed houses in the ultra-high ceilings of our newest venue.
Address: 100 W Reno
Directions: roughly situated at the southeast corner of the downtown highrises

Remington Park facility
Remington Park is among the latest of the world-class horse-racing venues brought by the DeBartolo family. Betting is allowed (this was a huge political issue at the time, but has since won over the populace), and simulcasts at other venues are provided. Quarter horse and thoroughbred racing at its finest are both seasonally available at this immaculate and ultramodern facility. Fans can watch through binoculars from the shaded seats or hear the turf-pounding at trackside.
Equipment: A pair of binoculars, a mini-fan or parasol might come in handy during our warmer months.
Address: One Remington Place
Directions: NE 50 and Martin Luther King (near Tinseltown and the Oklahoma City Zoo)
Phone: (405)424-1000

Cox Convention Center (the Myriad)
Formerly the one venue in Oklahoma City for music acts, hockey games and basketball tournaments, the Cox Business Services Convention Center (once known and still popularly called "the Myriad) has been refurbished as part of the MAPS program, but its future as a venue is highly in doubt after the construction of the Ford Center. As its name implies, conventions might find their agendas better suited in the reconstructed corridors inside.
Directions: due north of Ford Center near 100 W Reno

Johnny Bench guarding "the Brick"
The Oklahoma Redhawks, the AAA affiliate of the Texas Rangers, have been playing in their new facility in Bricktown. Completed at the cost of roughly $21 million to the taxpayer, this minor league ballpark is a wonderful addition to the metro's MAPPS project, though at first we were angered at its new name (the Southwestern Bell Bricktown Ball Park, now stupidly euphemized as the Brick). You can get your cold beer on the concourse, your bratwurst or cotton candy, and watch great AAA action from any of the stadium's comfortable seats or suites. Fine statues of Oklahoma's baseball greats Mickey Mantle and Johnny Bench adorn the western walks outside the stadium.
Address: 2 South Mickey Mantle Drive
Directions: eastern Bricktown along Sheridan Avenue
Phone: 405/ 218-1000
