"Last Stand - what else is there to do here?" Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument by mrclay2000

Windswept Memorial of Tall Grass

There is not much to do or see here. There is a national cemetery, a visitor center with limited gifts and nicknacks but a reasonable offering of books, an occasional ranger-lecture that alone lends a spark of life to this place, and the hill on which Federal Cavalry were buried after the slaughter.

Pros and Cons
  • Pros:Historic Place of more notoriety than importance
  • Cons:Nothing much to see or do
  • In a nutshell:Worth a visit if you wish to claim this hallowed ground

Definitely a place that has been brought to my attention in reading accounts of the 'Wild West' ! There are two sides to every tale, but it was nice to see a photo of the actual burial area!

Always interesting to see the layout of the ground where important events occurred. The topography may not stand out--but the events were monumental in the history of the U.S.

Not sure that Custer was so arrogant after the battle Redlats....But yes, the histroy of the Native Americans i certainly tragic, but interesting to read about nonetheless

We found the area very interesting. Custer was so arrogant. Do you know as many natives were killed as cavalry?
