Everglades National Park Travel Guide: 373 reviews and 931 photos
Everglades National Park (like the rest of south Florida) is generally warm and tropical year-round, with summer temperatures being strong and constant. In-season means the winter months where temperatures are not as spiteful as they become in the spring and summer.
The great thing about the Everglades is that it is surrounded by water on all sides, and all the creatures that live therein, and all the creatures that feed on those creatures, are all here in startling abundance. If you came here for alligators and crocodiles, you'll find them, but your conductors at every hour will be the birds.
Unfortunately, there is another conductor here just as prevalent known as the mosquito, and there are 42 different kinds that will gladly drink from your tap.
- Pros:Great abundance of wildlife and getting around is easy
- Cons:too hot, thirsty mosquitoes, limited beauty/scenery
- In a nutshell:A veritable hive of animal diversity and activity

great page, this np is high on my wish list!
glad you enjoyed your trip to my home state!
Fantastic wildlife pics. I never thought of myself as a birdwatcher, but I'm getting more and more interested in them. Being out in nature is such a treat.
Great page on the Everglades! Great photos and tips very helpful! Would love to go here soon! :o)
This brings back memories of camping in the middle of the everglades about 30 years ago until the mosquitos drove us out!
Excellent commentary about the Everglades National Park, especially the differences between the crocodile and alligator. Enjoyed the audubon-like pages about white ibis, anhinga, blue heron, and turkey vulture. I enjoy birds a great deal.
Great wildlife photos! I didn't know there are crocodiles in the US.
Excellent page and so much wildlife you've spotted. During my visit, I didn't even see one alligator nor crocodile :-(
Excellent page! Very similar to what's around Houston! But all these animals (great picts!) are not hideous or ugly, including the turtle, the turkey vultures & the gators!! The later are always smiling for example, contrarily to most humans...
A regular audubon guide you give us here. Very nice - another great reason for that folding kayak? Just don't get mistaken for a little alligator :-]
