Marts from Wall to Wall

Like much of Arkansas, Fayetteville offers venues for city and town life, but sits in the midst of some of the country's most beautiful scenery. The Buffalo National River is not far, and the historic battlefields of Prairie Grove, Pea Ridge and Wilson's Creek are all within a few hours' drive. Possibly best known for being the home of the University of Arkansas and perhaps the nearby international headquarters of Wal-Mart Stores, Inc, Fayetteville has more history and more outdoors avenues than many comparable cities in the country.

Beautiful mixture of 19th century styles. But no pictures of the Hogs? Hiked atop the peaks of Liechtenstein wtih a UA fellow who had a hoghat on and would give the "Suuuueeee Pig" shout out over the Rhine valley below.

Starting to make plans for a first visit to this state. After seeing your page on Fayetteville I may want to include this city.

You have an amazing knowledge of your own country. It's good to see some historical buildings in the US - even if the buildings are only 150 years old or less! I learnt a new word today - ante-bellum!

This town has some great architecture. Reminds me a bit of Natchez (MS).

Now that is a courthouse (very similar to the one in Winona, MN) and the jail is most excellent (unless, of course, you happen to be one of the hapless languishing inside).
