The Most Brilliant City in the World

by mrclay2000 - last update: Jan 14, 2003

City of Light shines at all seasons

Thirtieth Birthday, Pont des Arts
The City of Light gives the most complete collection of the magnificence of the Old World and the New. There are chateaux here and ancient walls and gates, all linked by a modern Metro system that takes you to any spot in the city. There is elegance and charm, romance and atmosphere, moods both public and private, gaudiness and style, all blended into the most splendid circle of cosmopolitan vitality on Earth.

Pros:"Every square is a vista; every hour a blessing"
Cons:"Getting help or information may require more than a smile"
In A Nutshell:"Walk in any direction; try to get lost; the City of Light embraces everyone"

Interesting that back in 2003 you titled a photo "traffic cop and the ubiquitous bicycle". Well, if you thought bicycles were ubiquitous in 2003, you should see what Paris looks like now! It's fantastic!
