'Mode': AROUND
Category: Subway/Metro
Getting TO/AROUND: Prague has an excellent subway system. It's clean and efficient and fairly easy to use. The other good thing is that you can use passes for the subway, tram, and bus system. If you buy a single journey ticket, they are sold in two ways-a straight forward ticket and a ticket that allows you to change. Non-transfer tickets apply to trams and buses for 15 minutes allowing no change. On the Metro such tickets are valid for the distance of 4 stations from the station of validation (not including the station of validation) allowing to change between the lines A,B,C, but no longer than 30 minutes. These tickets do not apply to night routes and funicular railway. If you're not sure which one to buy then buy the latter of the two. Also keep in mind that if you are toting a suitcase you will have to buy an extra (reduced) ticket for it. Here are some of the prices for individual and season tickets. 24-hour ticket 70,- CZK 3-day ticket (72 hours) 200,- CZK 7-day ticket (168 hours) 250,- CZK 15-day ticket (360 hours) 280,- CZK Adult persons over 15 years 12,- CZK 8,- CZK transfer Children from 6 up to 15 years inclusive 6,- CZK 4,- CZK non-transfer

Transportation: Czech Flexi Pass

'Mode': AROUND
Category: Train
Getting TO/AROUND: If you're going to be traveling around a bit then you might want to consider the Czech Flexipass. It's good for 1st class train travel and covers the entire country. Keep in mind that the prices for train travel are relatively low while in Czech and that some places are reached more easily by bus (such as Cesky Krumlov) so don't buy the train pass unless you plan on going from one end of the country to the other. 3 days in 15 days (1st class) $74.00 (2nd class) $52.00 Additional Rail Days $10.00 $7.00

Transportation: Eastern European Pass

'Mode': TO,AROUND
Category: Train
Getting TO/AROUND: If you're planning on visiting several countries in Eastern Europe including Austria (I know, not in Eastern Europe), Czech, and Hungary then the Euro East Pass might be the thing for you. The price makes up for itself in Austria where train fares are a little higher than in most places, but once again I would only reccommend this pass if you plan on doing some heavy duty traveling between the countries. By this I mean like a route that would take you from Prague to Budapest to Vienna. That MIGHT justify the cost. If you're not sure, then try a point-to-point fare at www.raileurope.com to check out the fares first. It might actually be cheaper to buy the tickets individually. 5 days in 1 month (1st class) $230.00 )2nd class) $162.00 Additional Rail Days $28.00 $21.00
