We went to Avebury the same day that we went to Stonehenge and out of the two I definitely preferred Avebury. Most people on our tour did. For one, Stonehenge seemed like a theme park-long lines, lots of ropes, and tons of people. And you can't get close to the stones at all. At Avebury, we were pretty much the only people and you could walk right up to the stones and touch them. What energy! As a side note, Avebury is also the largest stone circle in the world. |
| trying my hand at the dousing rod |
| | Using the dousing rod was a weird experience. We held them and walked through the two main stones in order to feel their energy. I saw everyone else doing it but was a little skeptical until I held the rods myself. They stayed straight as arrows until I got between the stones and then they went out of control, moving every which way. It was really freaky. But cool. |
