"Green Grass of Ireland" Dublin by Krumlovgirl

At first sight I was sorely disappointed in Dublin. I was expecting to see the Ireland in movies and I had no idea that Dublin was just a big city. It was the first place that I landed. After exploring it some, though, and giving it a shot I ended up really liking it. It's not somewhere that I would like to spend a lot of time in, but there's enough stuff there to keep someone interested for a day or two.

It's a friendly place and has a lot of tourists sites. And it's great for daytrips to places like Glendalough, Newgrange, and the hill of Tara, but the fact is that is is just a large city. Maybe a little cleaner than some. Maybe a little friendlier than others. And the climate is better than, oh, say, London. Visiting Trinity College and seeing the Book of Kells is worth it. And if you're a theater fan then checking out some of the shows can be good, too.

• Cons:It's basically just a big city.
• In a nutshell:If you're looking for the Ireland on television, you won't find it here. But for a capital city, it's not bad.
