Columbia river gorge.

Just head east on the I-84 and you will enter the Columbia river gorge and there are plenty of activities and things to see.

Multnomah falls.

This is nice getaway that has some little trinkets that might be a little overpriced, like some mount st. helen's ash or your typical pens with the waterfall on it.
There is a trail that takes you to a better view of the falls, it's a nice long walk close to the top where there is plenty of moss for everybody.
To get there, take I-84 east from Portland and it's about 30 miles into the columbia river gorge next to Benson state park.

Multnomah falls restaurant.

I was at this restaurant checking out their menu, when I noticed that they had prime rib for $10.50, I decided to get it even though I expected a tiny piece of meat the size of a quarter. I was surprized that the prime rib was about 16 oz. and was very tasty. If you make it to this restaurant, the prime rib is the cheapest I have ever had without all that food poisoning at the cheap places.
It's a very classy etablishment also.
