The Very First National Park | the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone |
My parents came for a visit at the end of May, 2005. We drove from my home in Colorado up to Yellowstone. We've made this trip before and always have a great time. We saw herds of bison and elk, lots of deer and pronghorn, a coyote (or a wolf, we couldn't tell), a moose and a bald eagle. On previous trips we've seen bear, but weren't lucky enough this time. We were lucky enough to see a few geysers go off, not just Old Faithful. |
| | The Grand Tetons and Jackson Hole Jackson Hole is a fun town. In the winter, there's lots of skiing and in the summer, people come for the scenery and hiking. We took a boat trip across Jenny Lake, hiked to the waterfall, and then hiked back. And due to trail reconstruction, it was a strenuous hike. But truly lovely. |
Chief Joseph Scenic Highway and Cody We decided to take a different route home. We could not have been happier that we did. The Chief Joseph Scenic Highway (SR 296) is stunning. I would recommend to anyone to take the time and drive this stretch of road. The views are incredible and there's virtually no traffic. It culminates at Dead Indian Pass, so named after the Nez Perce battles. | | |
