These are the animals I saw at Glacier:
Green winged teal; dozens of eagles; deer (including a nursing fawn in the wild); mountain goats; big fat marmots; merganser; orange crowned warbler; big horn sheep; several grizzly bears; many black bear including a mother and her cub; pine sisken; grossbeak; Clark's nutcracker; pika; ground squirrels; snakes; magpies; and the pesky open range cattle.
There are also bison and elk on the premises and birds too numerous to mention. |

sim1 Sun Mar 4, 2007 17:09 UTC Beautiful photos, and beautiful page! Thanks for sharing Phil! I am planning a visit for this summer and I can hardly wait to see it all :-) | Stephen-KarenConn Wed Aug 30, 2006 15:53 UTC Wow! I'm impressed with the amount of wildlife you saw at Glacier NP. We also saw a lot on our trip, but you've topped our list. Beautiful photos. | Bwana_Brown Wed Apr 5, 2006 17:04 UTC Your hotel tip made me chuckle! Excellent photos as always Phil, and very useful information too. My wife & I are considering this in July while in Alberta for 3 weeks this summer. Thanks. | iwys Sat Jan 28, 2006 01:17 UTC Excellent tips and photos. This page brings back memories. Yes, Montana is great for wildlife, especially bear-watching, from a safe distance when they are eating berries on the lower slopes. I hiked up to see those Bighorn Mountain Sheep too. |
