Red Wing is one of my favorite places in Minnesota. It is a small city of some 16,000 inhabitants. It lies along the banks of the Mississippi River and the town is nestled amongst and between a series of pretty bluffs.

Fine tips on a gr8 small town, Hwy 61, the River Road will take you all the way to New Orleans. I recall small towns' parks had a pyramid of Civil War cannonballs & a big old cannon. Red Wing is special with a wonderful old riverside ambiance. Doug

Another page I just know I've visited. These tips are familiar to me, but where is my comment? Little town America must be preserved at all costs. . .

Very well done! Looks like a great little place that I'd love to visit. You're right about brick buildings. I got a good sense of Red Wing through your excellent pictures and comments too.
