Gooseberry Falls State Park is the first of a series of wonderful state parks on the north shore of Lake Superior north of Duluth. Highway 61 bisects Gooseberry, so there is no excuse not to stop and have a look at the falls. They always run to some extent, but the gush with tremendous power in the springtime (which in northern Minnesota means May and June).

This looks live a very pleasant little spot to spend some time in the wilds! My wife and I are contemplating a meandering drive in various parts of USA and Canada. Thxs for the tips!

My wife and I love this kind of places very much. But because of financial and other reasons, we have to look for them within Europe (and even Belgium). Nice pics and good comments!

I'll always take a waterfall as its mightiest output, muddy or clear. Love this kind of stuff. . .the woods, the torrents, the possible wildlife. . .always the best.
