"The County Seat" Faribault by zrim

Faribault Travel Guide: 11 reviews and 23 photos

Faribault is the county seat for Rice County, Minnesota--the county where I live and work. Faribault has all the politicians, beaurocrats and government. Is it any wonder that people therefore flock to my town, Northfield, where the motto is Cows, Colleges and Contentment.

Actually, Faribault is a nice town with interesting architecture and I don't mind spending time there at all.

you are an idiot. The house is in period that is why they call it a "painted lady" That is how they did it. Know your history before you blast those who do

Hi Phil, You have caught the flavor of Faribault very well. First settled by French fur traders. Nice pics & tips. I still have a woolen blanket from the Faribault Woolen Mill. Keep it in the car-but not much need or use in SoCal. Doug

This is NOT Shattuck St. Mary's school. It is the Minnesota State Academy for the Deaf, which is adjacent to Shattuck-St. Mary's.

Old churches are always great. Your funky house resembles the Overholser Mansion in OKC. Great small-town page.

Nice look at a small Midwestern community. Looks oh so familiar to many places in my neck of the woods.
