The first bit of fun comes with the airplane ride into Lindberg Field. The airplane careens over the Laguna Mountains and all of a sudden it feels like you are only inches from the buildings of downtown San Diego. The airplane has its nose pointed downward at a ridiculous angle and the ground appears to be coming towards you much too fast. But all is well as the front tires make contact followed by the rear and the pilot expertly brakes to a gentle stop.
I usually find myself in San Diego in November and the weather is always perfect. Seventy degrees with very little wind. Beats the heck out of Minnesota at that time of year.
What to do on this trip to San Diego: the zoo is always a must; old town is fun, the trolley to Tijauna is usually interesting people watching; dinner in gastown is always good; or maybe a leisurely drive to the Cleveland National Forest or even all the way out to the Anza-Borrego Desert. Never a lack of things to do or see in San Diego. |
