The Grand Canyon is a sight like no other. Of course, I had grown up seeing pictures of the Grand Canyon in books and magazines. I remember when the Brady Bunch (American tv show) took a vacation there. The Grand Canyon is one of America's most recognizable sights along with the Statue of Liberty, the Capitol Building and the Golden Gate Bridge. But nothing prepared me for the deep vibrant colors of the canyon. I don't know that words can adequately describe the color sensations. And I'm not sure my photos do justice....but it is the best I can offer.

Pros and Cons

Pros:vibrant colors
Cons:can be pretty darn hot in the summer
In a nutshell:everyone should experience it at least once

I was lucky to see it and your off the beaten pathe - drive from the bridge up was fantastic... And surely, I had to take similar pic as you on the cliff there (but I took my shoes off to look more... authentic or silly :-)

Beautiful page, and great photos! I regret that I didn't hike down into the Canyon. I wish I had taken more time on my visit to do so. But next time I certainly will!!!
