Nürnberg is a lovely old city which can take the visitor back to the romantic eras of the middle ages. Nürnberg is also a horrific reminder of the evils of 1930s and 40s Nazi Germany. I much preferred visiting the old town and letting the charm of Nürnberg do its magic on me. Yet, the old remnants of Hitler's grandiosity must also be seen, though to do so will mean a sorrowful heart. |

Hengist Tue May 20, 2008 13:47 UTC We came upon this by accident, and I was interested to feel the vibe. I was surprised, I thought it would have been torn down. There's not much to do except climb up to Hitler's platform, but it's a place that really makes you think. | matcrazy1 Tue Feb 20, 2007 00:36 UTC Rhanks for showing us lovely medieval old town with impressive church and interesting fortifications. | MissyWQ Fri Dec 29, 2006 01:09 UTC How can you down-play Lebkucken, I LOVE, LOVE LOVE THEM. Oh, well, I forgive you. | drdab Thu Oct 12, 2006 07:57 UTC In August 2006, at Zeppelin Field, I stood where Hitler stood to deliver speeches. I gloried in the fact that I am alive and free and Hitler isn't. |
