Favorite Thing: A palace built by a victorious warlord, Prince Eugene of Savoy. Later owned by the unfortunate Archduke Francis Ferdinand. The gardens looking towards the central part of Vienna look lovely, but nothing was in bloom because we were there in mid-October.

Favorite Thing: St. Stephen's is hands down the largest cathedral I have ever seen. It is impossible to get the whole structure into on picture frame. The interior is dark and very gothic with impressive stained glass windows. It was way too dark inside to even think about a photo without the use of a tripod.

Favorite Thing: The pride of the Vienna aristocracy. Built in the 1860s. Lavish and ornate interior. Must have been something to catch a performance here back in the day.
