Antiquity in Northeast Italy

village path to Basillica
This is to be a short page on Aquileia I'm afraid. We spent a pleasant hour or so exploring the brilliant mosaics and frescoes in the basilica. However, the weather outside was dreadful and we did not much feel like exploring the village huddled under our rain jackets. Therefore, the photos are few. Yet the village is charming and the basilica is a must see sight on any northeast Italy itinerary.

Good info. I saw the basilica, luckily on sunny day.

Aquileia looks grand to visit. How did I miss it? Thanks for the tour.

You should have invited him out during the drought Craic! How frustrating for your photgraphy. Keep up the good (if brief) work.

The weather just seems to follow you round. (Would you come to Australia, please?)
