    • This is actually a very bad scene and not one that I am proud to present. This nice looking gibbon lives in the floating muslim village in the Ao Phang-Nga National Park. The guide told us that the gibbon is well taken care of by the elderly Thai man who lets the gibbon crawl on the tourists for a few baht.

    However, any gibbon that is kept in a village or a bar as a pet was probably kidnapped from the jungles. To make matters worse, the kidnapping usually involves the murder of the mother gibbon.

    Gibbons should be left in the jungles. They are awfully cute, but so are golden retrievers and they make much better pets.
