Horse Back Riding
I was on a horse in Mexico at Quiximto so I didn't go for it at the Royal Decameron Resort Complex but there is obviously ample opportunity depending on where you are to I guess.
These guys in the picture left right from the Royal Decameron Resort Complex beach.
The vendors in this area are liscensed and have permission to be there.
I always wondered where the horses releived themselves, I know in Quiximto it was just about anywhere however back in Puerto Vallarta they must have constantly cleaned up after the horses, I never say any unsightly scenes on the beach at all!

Corrida de Toros
Called "Corrida de Toros" in Mexico, bullfights traditionally begin at 5 pm.
I didn't get to see a fight during my visit, they hadn't started yet for the season.
Each fight has three stages:
After the opening parade, the bull is rushed into the arena where two picadors thrust lances into its shoulders to weaken it.
During the second stage, the bandelleras stick long streamered darts into the shoulders to further debilitate the animal.
The third part is announced with trumpets that usher in the matador to finish off the bull. The matador dodges and taunts the now-weakened, angry and dying bull with his cape. He does this to bring the bull to a strategic spot in the arena, in front of judges, pretty señoritas or government officials, where he will hopefully deliver the "estocada" (killing sword thrust) into the neck of the bull.
Bullfights can be seen each Wednesday at 5 pm November through April at the Toros Plaza across from the Maritime Terminal.
Cost per person $25 USD
I did get a picture of the outside of the arena. I would go for the fun of it if you are not apposed to the animal cruelty. I have been told that if you are an expert in the sport it will not compare to the bull fighting you will find in Spain for example.

Pick Up Game of Soccer
Soccer or Football is very popular in Mexico. I didn't see any organized football myself but I know several people on staff at the Royal Decameron Resort did play competitively.
Here is a pick up game at the resort, I also bump into a pick up game on the beach in Quiximto.
Great sport!

Beach VolleyBall at the Royal Decameron Complex
At the Royal Decameron Complex and I suspect it is similar in all the other resorts it is common to see plenty of activities organized like this one in the picture. Beach volleyball is a regular thing.
I didn't bother with that stuff most of my trip and stuck to the bar, touring and boggyboarding but near the end I got to know the staff and entered one activity.
The goal was to kick a soccer ball across a pool in front of a cheering crowd and put it in the a tiny soccer net. I said what the hell and missed my first two shots.
The third one went in and to get to the point I ended up winning a 40 oz bottle of tequila!!
So it payed to get involved for sure in the competitions :-)

Flamingo Golf Course
I am an avid golfer normally but I have to admit when I was in Puerto Vallarta I found it to hot to golf and stuck to the water sports, eating, drinking and touring around.
It was also a bit pricey if you didn't have your own clubs and stuff.
The Flamingo's golf course was right next to the Royal Decameron Resort in the Bucerias area just north of Puerto Vallarta.
If you can handle the heat and I recommend you give it a try, I will next time for sure, I provided a web site address with more detail on the local courses on there.

When the waves where not to big at Flamingo Beach like real early in the morning, it was great for sea kayaking!!! It was very relaxing and peaceful just floating there at time watching the fish jump right beside you!!!!

Flamingo Beach!
The Flamingo Beach in Bucerias was great for bugy boarding!! You would get crashed hard by the waves and it was amazing but you had to be sure not to get hit to hard, my buddie got a black eye from it and I hit my head off the bottom several times, luckily it is a great sandy beach!!!!
