Edmonton is home of the Edmonton Oilers hockey team, Eskimos if you like football but everyone I know goes there to shop at the West Edmonton Mall.
Generally when I have traveled to Edmonton it was unroute to Fort McMurray to visit family.
Many people refer to Edmonton as a "blue collar" city so I thought this monument of a working man would be fitting.
Edmonton I am sure is a fine city but I am not getting it for some reason. All of my visits so far have been confined to the west end because of the mall.
I tried to get tours of the city but nothing jumps out everytime I visit. It's proximity to Jasper is appealing I guess.
The next time I visit I really want to see more then the famous mall. Please email any suggestions and in the meantime I'll share what I have discovered so far :-)
- Pros:The West Edmonton Mall and close to the mountains!
- Cons:The cold, and the traffic.
- In a nutshell:Great place to shop!

That mall is just fantastic ;-)
I just know about Edmonton that they have a NHL team... but after visiting this page they should change their name in Edmonton Dolphins. ;-)
I think I would definitely take a trip to the mall but I would definitely pass up the bungy jump experience (too scared of heights).
My brother lives in Edmonton, so I too have experienced "the Mall". I did my bungy jumping in NZ and I agree, I couldn't stop smiling either...what a rush!
You can see pictures of the Mall on my Edmonton page. Some Hotel room WOW! expensive is right.
