Snowmobilers!
If you are in Goose Bay in March, I would highly recommend you investigate the Sno-Break winter fun festival. There is a week long of snow related events.
In 2004 they attempted a guiness world record for the longest continous line of snow machines, over 800 showed up!!!
Equipment: Snowmobile, Warm Winter Close, Helmet.

Amaruk Course Map
If you are in Happy Valley - Goose Bay during the summer check out the Amaruk Golf Club, you can't beat a $20 green fee.
It is only $360 for an annual single membership.
The course is 9 holes but you can play 18 using the different tee boxes.
It's a great little course and I will give some more tips by hole. With this tip I just have a course map provided, all others have a view from the tee box.
Some local rules include: RCGA rules govern all play, white stakes are out of bounds, red stakes are lateral. All players must register at clubhouse, proper golf attire is required, soft spikes only, repair ball marks on green and rake bunkers. Play "ready golf".
The red yardage markers are at 100 yards, white are at 150 and blue are at 200.
Equipment: You can get rentals at the club!

Minipi Camp Building at Otter Creek
Goose Bay is a popular sport with sports outfitters and fly fishing. There are many great lakes and rivers in the remote regions of Labrador.
Here are just a few of the operators but Labrador really does have some of the best fishing in the world!!

5 Wing 9 Hole Par 3s Course
On 5 Wing Goose Bay there is a free public 9 hole course. All holes are a par 3. There is no regulation on the course, you just go up there and step up to the tee.
It is generally not very busy but if you like par 3s what's wrong with a free round of golf.
The course is actually a scenic one.
The greens are not cut either making it less of a golfing experience and more of a practise course.
Enjoy your golfing!!

5 Wing Driving Range
5 Wing also has a great driving range.
There is a catch, it is free and unmanned.
Therefore you bring your own balls, stay there as long as you like but also pick up your own balls.

Hole 9 Tee Box View
Hole number 9 is a par 4 for men and women. 376 yards for the men, 327 for the women.
Hole number 18 is a par 3 for both men and women. 167 yards for the men and women.
There is once again plenty of fairway. If you go left you will be fine on the number 1 fairway. There are just a row of birch trees seperating both holes. If you go to the right there is heavy trees and it won't be good.
There are bunkers on both sides of the green.
Number 18 is obviously much shorter and you will most likely hit the green and there is some forgiveness to both sides of the green if you miss the bunkers.

Number 8 Tee Box View
Hole number 8 is a par 4 for both men and women. 375 yards for the men and 293 for the women.
Hole number 18 is a par 4 for the men at 413 yards and a par 5 for the women at 375 yards.
Another hole with plenty of fairway. If you go a little left you will be fine. If you go way left you are into plenty of trees again.
If you go to the right you will be fine on the number 7 fairway. If you just go a little right it is possible to get a placement with some very large birch trees in the way.
There is one bunker in front of the green and this is a very large green. Try to place it close to the pin or you are in for a long put!!!

Hole 7 Tee Box View
Hole number 7 is a par 4 for men and women. Men have 423 yards to go and women have to go 308.
Hole number 16 is a par 4 for men at 372 yards and a par 5 for women at 372 yards.
This is a long hole but plenty of fairway. If you go in the trees to the left you are finished and won't get a shot. If you go to the right you will be fine on the number 8 fairway.
There are no bunkers around the green but plenty of birch trees that sometimes come into play.

Hole 6 Tee Box View
Holes 6 and 15 are both a par 3 for the men and women.
Hole 6 is 153 yards for the men, 140 yards for the women.
Hole 15 is 150 yards for the men but from a different angle and 150 yards for the women.
It's best here as always to hit the green. If you go left you are into thick woods. If you go right but a good distance you will be fine.
There is one deep bunker in front of the green to the right and two at the back of the green. You should be fine if you hit the green.

Hole 5 Fairway View
Holes 5 and 14 are both a par 4 for the men and women.
Hole 5 is 302 yards for the men, 219 for the women.
Hole 14 is 341 yards for the men, 302 yards for the women.
This hole the fairway is a little narrower and its best not to go in the woods to the left. They are thick and you won't get a shot.
If you go short in the woods to the right you are also in trouble. If you go long and to the right you will be ok because there is a lot of open spaces in that area.
If you hit a long drive and it gets over a small incline it will role closer to the green.
On the back 9 the hole plays a little longer.
