Getting TO/AROUND: If you are staying in the downtown area of Vancouver there is a very relaxing, quick and efficient way to get over to Granville Island.

There is a steady flow of load and go mini-boats that will bring you across the waterway for $2 CDN. You can also buy a round trip if you want to.

It will only take a couple of minutes to get across but it is relaxing and you get some great views of all the boats. It is much better than trying to walk across the bustling bridge.

Inexpensive and fun, the Aquabus and False Creek Ferry provide short rides across the False Creek Inlet, from the downtown side (north) to the Granville Island side (south).

The ferries run continuously from 7am to 10:30pm in the summer (8:30pm winter). Check their websites for specific schedules and information.

    Aquabus
The rainbow-coloured Aquabus (www.aquabus.bc.ca) travels around False Creek with stops at the foot of Hornby St., Stamp's Landing, Yaletown (foot of Davie St.), and Science World. The Aquabus dock on Granville Island is located between the Public Market and the Arts Club Theatre.

    False Creek Ferry
The False Creek Ferries (www.granvilleislandferries.bc.ca) also travel around the Inlet and stop at the Maritime Museum (west of Granville Island), the Aquatic Centre (under the Burrard St. Bridge, on the downtown side (north) of the Inlet), Stamp's Landing, and Science World (the easternmost point of False Creek). The False Creek Ferry dock on Granville Island is located near the entrance to Bridges Restaurant.

Getting TO/AROUND: If you are not up to the 9 kilometer walk around Stanley Park's seawall you can go by horse as well as an option.

I provided a web site address where you can get more information on the price and times of departure.

Getting TO/AROUND: If you are pressed for time and want good value for money you can try a great Greyline Tour called the "Wonders of the West Coast Dinner". It is $85 CDN for an adult and you get a 10% discount if you book it through the Holiday Inn Concierge Desk.

Before you jump at the price listen to what you get for that.

You get picked up at your downtown hotel, a mini city tour enroute to the Capilano Suspension Bridge. Access to the Bridge and Tree Top Adventure. Tour, interpretation, First Nations Drum Dancing and a Pacific Salmon Summer.

Then you continue on to Grouse Mountain to get the best views of the area, grizzley bears, an interpretation video and a great black forest cake desert in my case at a restaurant that has to have one of the best views possible. See the picture.

Then you eventually see the city by night from Grouse Mountain and enroute home with more city interpretation by your guide.

I thought it was great value if you need to see a lot of stuff in a hurry and still have to eat supper.

    Departs 6 pm every day.

Getting TO/AROUND: Take notice in the airport of all the aboriginal art work. Apparently the government of British Columbia spent a lot of money to show off this art work and I must say it was the nicest airport I have visited to date!

So you were uncomfortable witnessing a gang sexual assault on a woman? You need to critically examine your privileged position and how that allows you to cast your gaze upon those who, living in the public arena of the streets, have no means to avert it.

First off, you have no compassion and that I think that it is pretty appaling that you would write something like this. Even though you may not think it but those people are people just like you and me and im glad they made you feel umcomfortable.

You should getcher funky white ass over to the "other" side of the tracks once in awhile and learn something about the world you live in and about systemic, institutionalized poverty and racism dude. It will give you a little more character...

I wonder why a tourist in any city in the world would venture down a back alley to photograph homeless people and post it here??
