Arrving Christchurch from Sydney only took me 3 hours' flight. I've never thought of visiting New Zeland. Since there is a mega foot conference going on over there, I thought might as well make use of the opportunity to do a mini travel there as well. CHCH is located on the south island of New Zeland. First impression: many mountains for skiing, very slow pace sort of lifestyle, easy to make your way around, quiet at night which reminded me of the life I had in Perth and the people are proud of their Cathedral Church.
Weather is much colder there and it appeared to me as quite a number of Koreans, Japanese, and Taiwanese are well -established there.
The nearest skifield from CHCH would be Mt Hutt. For those who will be travelling there, remember to check out the World Famous Blue pub (www.bluepub.com).Other skifields include Porter Heights, Mt Cheeseman, Mt Olympus and Fox Peak. Skiing packages are readily avaliable.
I'll put up the pics as I go along describing the places which may be worth to look at. |
