What about? | That's mom 'playing' with sand. |
Lancelin is rather a not too big town located 127km north of Perth. Took about slight more than an hour's drive to get up there. Lancelin has been known to heaps of surfers and also attracted many international/australia windsurfers for competition and sporting events. Prevailing winds start to blow southerly direction in the month of October through March. An average of wind knots is about 18-22 knots. YHA also offer surfer accomodation package. Hostels and bed and breakfast are ready avaliable in the town. No big shopping centres. Mainly Deli stores and shops along the side of the road.
So if girls are looking for hot surfer dudes, this is the place to come ;p
The other special interesting area of Lancelin is sand dunes. The soft fine sands is the place where most motorcyclist will broom their bikes up and down the dunes. No doubt it is a dangerous spot and according to the tour guide, there has been multiple of mishaps to death of people doing dangerous stunt.
Sand dunes may seem stable as it is. More stable, in fact, during the winter time where the sands are able to bulid a more concrete grounds due to increase moisture content. Try out other acitivites like sand boarding! Pics of me doing that are included in the later part of introduction.
Lancelin is a great place for fishing activity, shell fish mainly or lobsters (season starts in Dec).
I have basically give a brief summary of Lancelin and will not add anymore tips beyond that. Additionally, I have been to Lancelin twice and usually it's a day trip. |
