Fremantle: Museums...Churches...Parks..Buildings....
  • Tip Rating:
  • Fremantle is located on the south of Perth. The locals call it in short as "Freo".Besides its famous for de port of call, a string of fish and chips resturants are located just next to it.Thus, you'll be able to enjoy your food while catching the breathtaking seaviews sceneries.
More updates on fremantle coming up next then......

Fremantle is pretty much a big place to walk around so one needs to wear sensible walking shoes.NO joke. You;ll thank me for this tip.

In addition,in Freo, there are plenty of shops and outdoor style cafes and not forgetting the pubs which can be packed with heaps of people on the weekend .Going to Freo makes me feel like as though i'm going to Perth City except of the difference in surroundings.

Fremantle is so easy to get around! And there are a couple of places that are worth to mention.

    Here's the list:

    1) Fremantle Prison was built by the convicts in 1850s. Go to the website as posted and it will link you to more spooky facts about the prision.Check it out!

    2) Marinetime Museum
This is another excellent place to visit if you are keen on looking at Dutch, Batavia shipwrecks. And also, how the divers work their ways out in collecting de artefacts under the sea. Located on the west end of Victoria Quay in Freo (near the fish and chips resturants).Too much to describe here....
Entrance fee is by donation.Minimum of $2.

The Pinnacles: Rocks Rocks and More rocks
  • Tip Rating:
  • The work of mother nature on rock formation from limestone built up over many many uncountable years.
To Pinnalces takes about approximately 6 hours of bus journey from Perth City.
Basically, it's more of a sightseeing tour. My friend, vivien and I are there only for 45 minutes before the coach starts another 6 hours journey back to Perth.
And of course, along the way, we have toilet breaks and stopovers at deli for lunch.
Before that we also did a bit of sandboarding.
    Will upload the pic soon.

Cost of the tour via travel agency: AUST$79

    Albany: Country Town
  • Tip Rating:
  • Perth Albany
  • MY HAIR!? Taken with Joe's Mom
  • by FOotFetish
  • Send Photo to a Friend
  • Albany is located on the down south of Perth. It takes about 6 hours of coach or 4 hours drive to reach there. All i can say is a nice country town with breathtaking scenic views.

I grabbed hold of the opportunity to travel with Joe to his Mom's place during the last summer holiday. (His mom stayed in Albany together with her Shizu dog, Booty.)

Albany has great diving sites and fishing areas.

    ** Danger notes**:

1)Watch out on those slippery rocks.I had a nasty fell after slipping off those rocks while fishing and of course, I almost dropped into the sea.Joe has to whip out his fishing rod so that I can stand myself up again.

    2) Never stand near the edges of the rocks as the wind can be so strong to blow you off in secs!

Other than that, Albany is like a compact town that has everything!

  • You'll see lotsa joggers in the early morning or evening. Plently of trees around which would be nice for people to get in touch with nature.

This is the place to be for taking Perth City Skyline pictures.*hint hint to photographers out there*

There is also a nice resturant/cafe for stopover. And thus, you're able to sip a cuppa while enjoying the magnificent views of Perth.

Caversham wildlife park: Caversham Wildlife Park
  • Tip Rating:
  • Perth Caversham wildlife park
  • Look at our darling brother
  • "Wombat"
  • by FOotFetish
  • Send Photo to a Friend
  • Caversham wildlife park has just moved to its new location. About 25 mins drive from Perth city. This is the definite place to go for getting up close and personal with animals like kangeroofs, wombats and koalas. Other than that, there is a large varieties of bird sanctuaries.
Bring your own camera and take as many pics as you want with the animals without being charging extra. The rangers are friendly and a souvenir shop is avaliable for Australia goods purchase.

  • Wanna get a closer look and be wild with the swans, gooses and pelicans?
Lake mongo is the place to go.It is situated near Scarborough Beach.Best transport would be a car.
It's like a huge nice botanic garden full of such animals.
Beware of the geese! They packed on Ladies' skirts asking for food!
    EEKS!

And of course, one is not supposed to feed the wild....:P

Kings Park: Kings Park at Night
  • Tip Rating:
  • Thanks to Anna for this pic!
This is the scene of King Park at night. The trees are shone with different vibrant colour lights.Don't they make the trees look exotic?? Nice to chill out during summer nights.

In summer, there is Sunset Cinema at Kings Park. This means it's an open air cinema and simply just drive and park your car , and catch the movie from there.
The movie program can be obtained at Tourist Information Centre or do a web search for Sunset Cinema at Kings Park.

Lovely pic you have there. :)

Surely this cannot be serious. It says we cannot bring worn shoes in to Australia at Perth. What is a visitor to do? There was no suggestion of this on my previous trips to Australia, but I entered at Melbourne and Sydney? Again, is this serious?
