Grainau is a small town close to the more famous resort town of Garmisch-Partenkirchen. It is the point of access to the Eibsee and also a stop on the cogwheel train and the location of the cable car that will take you to the peak of the Zugspitz, which at 2962m is the highest point in Germany.
