First let me warn you, I'm a beginning skier. We left SG at about 8:30P - 4 hours later than planned (don't ask). Arrived in Kitzbühel a little after midnight, so we didn't get a good idea of how big the mountains were.

Imagine the surprise for a person from the flatlands of Midwest United States when I woke up and looked out my window at the Hahnenkamm peak. There is no way I'm skiing down these trails I thought. I'll be on the bunny hill being humiliated by the 4 year old future Franz Klammer's.

After a major ordeal getting ski's and boots, we trudged off to the beginner hill to meet my friend Dave. My co-worker D headed off to the gondola to hit the expert trails, while my other co-worker S stayed with Dave and I for a few lessons. Dave is a great & patient skiier. Before long I was snowplowing and turning like a beginner instead of a pregnant yak. It was a great start to my skiing career and I will definitely do it again.
