Some things haven't changed - it was nice to see some familiar edifaces when I visited the old place with my son in the winter of 2008.
Here is where my house used to be. The old shed is still there, and the pump house in the distance.
And the swing bridge over the Hungaroa River. But it looks pretty rickety now. I didn't try to use it.
- Pros:Still a really nice place.
- Cons:I know it can flood from time to time.
- In a nutshell:Very nice country, very nice people.

I like lots of milk in my tea, and hotels never supply enough. So I nipped around into Kitchener Street to a little shop... more travel advice

l love these sorts of places. hope it dosent change until i get there ! maybe in 2011
A shop open from 3 am to 1pm for the shearers! I never realized shearers have to get up that early!!

Jenn, it may have been a small page but it packed a lot of whallop with your excellent hotel and strange store hours tips!! I never realized we were such close neighbours all those years ago when I lived just next-door in Port Moresby!
Yes it's so pleasant to visit old places... I'd like come back to many of them...
