"The best name since Koo Wee Rup" Nar Nar Goon by craic

Nar Nar Goon Travel Guide: 0 reviews and 3 photos

I've only been to Nar Nar Goon once. When my daughter kept her horses on a property here. But I live closeish now so will visit again and thoroughly explore it.
Such a good name! It comes from an aboriginal word for koala apparently.

It's in Gippsland, 61 k from the centre of Melbourne. It gets pretty dry as you can see so the horses have to be hand fed.

I know there is at least one pub because we passed it as we drove to the property.

Pros and Cons
  • Pros:Great name.
  • Cons:Maybe.
  • In a nutshell:I will explore and report back.

Nar Nar Goon sounds like something on a Thai restaurant menu..... I'm all for your policy of pages on places that have great names. I'd do the same but there seems to be a VT database policy that filters out all the really fruity English village names

Nar Nar Goon sounds like a nice little spot - after all, it has a pub! That is a fine looking horse your beautiful daughter is tending to. My youngest has five horses on her acreage near Sylvan Lake, Alberta. Quite a job tending to them all.

Beautiful horse. Goon has another meaning here-the kids call wine casks "goon". Rooty Hill is still my personal favourite.
