This is an area where you will find a busy train stationplenty of shops and food vendors, live music and the list goes on. It is one of the hardest plazas to miss in Berlin due to the Fernsehturm tower. You will also see many youth around which are reminiscent of Germany's punk era. They are great fun and love life!

This 60's era tower was used as a TV tower. Built in the height of the Cold War it was meant to send out a message to the West. You can visit the top of the tower which has a revolving observatory. On a clear day, they say you can see for almost 40km. There is a restaurant up top as well. This tower also stands as a good reference point in Berlin, and one of Europe's tallest structures.

This is one of the most striking aspects of this remodelled building. Built by Norman Foster, this glass dome houses a glass "tornado" on the interior of the Reichstag. The very top of which houses a great cafe with wonderful veiws of the city. It is lit up at night and could almost serve as a beacon of light.

The museum is in a house just across from the actual checkpoint. It houses many forms of memorabilia from all the handmade devices and techniques to smuggle goods and people out of the Eastern barrier of Berlin. There are many goods to be sold just near there that are replicas of the old communist era. Take look on the pavement and you will see some of the remaining concrete that was a part of the original Berlin Wall.
