Terekhol Fort: Great views

I didn't get a chance to stay here in the hotel as a guest but I was able to to take a look at it while on a tour of the fort. there are only about 7 rooms at the fort and it is an idyllic place to be to truly "get away".

Unique Qualities: The chef is top notch from Germany and fixes mostly European dishes but specialize in Goan and Portuguese cuisine. He is able to create just about any culinary dish you may desire. Each room has spectacular views as well as the balcony cafe, the dining rooms, and bar. St. Anthony's church is not open to the public but it is usually open for the annual festivals. Singles/doubles cost Rs 800/850.

Comparison: most expensive

Siolim House: Portuguese Manor home Casa Palacio Siolim House Review

This would be perfect for those who want luxurious surroundings and knowing you are close to the beach without having to be on the beach. Reminiscent of days gone by. I did not stay in this hotel but I did look at it for its architecture and historical siginificance in Siolim.

Unique Qualities: Siolim House would be thoroughly enjoyed by that kind of person who knows that luxury has nothing to do with such things at normal hotels, has everything to do with giving yourself the chance to truly relax. Siolim House is a home, and perfect for guests to experience Goa in a unique way.

Directions: 100m from St. Anthony's church in Siolim on the main road to Chapora.

Entrance to Sun Village - Goa

Entrance to Sun Village

Sun Village: One of the best in Baga Sun Village Review
Show Prices

This was a great place to stay. I was able to stay here with a private booking through my membership with RCI (www.rci.com). The staff here was exceptional and very helpful. We had no problem asking questions and feeling completely welcome. The hotel is clean and offers a lot to the package tourist. I am unsure exactly what goes on in the hotel as we were rarely there but to sleep and get breakfast in the mornings. However, you shouldn't miss the wellness spa that is on the upper terrace of the property. It is amazing! Well worth the time and money for a spa treatment. If you are here for a while and plan to hang out by the pool this is perfect. If you are planning to venture away from the hotels it is in a prime location for Baga beach (1/2km away), there are private taxi hire and moped/motor bike hire just near the grounds. You can also do a bit of last minute shopping before leaving the hotel at the attached shops.

Unique Qualities: The staff is outstanding. You are given bottled water in your room and it is filled any time you need it. Laundry service is quick and we had no complications. The breakfast is a buffet with a few items known especially to Brits and then there are the few Indian breakfast items. They are good but it is hard to eat that every morning. Thivim railway station is the closest if you are using the Konkan Railway from Mumbai or other cities in India. They will pick you up from the station if you pre-arrange it with them.
