A City by the River | View of the Brisbane River |
Brisbane really is an easy-going city. The main CBD is set on a big bend in the Brisbane River and there are regular ferry services connecting other banks of the river to the city. The climate is wonderful, being just above the NSW border it enjoys sunny days and winter is held off a good couple of months after Sydney turns cold.
While residents of the southern states often give Queenslanders a bit of a hard time, Brisbane really is a cosmopolitan city with fantastic dining options especially in the South Bank area which was creted for the World Expo in 1988. |

| | Accessible Brisbane With all the competition in the airline industry in Australia in the last few years Brisbane had become more accessible than ever. Often Virgin Blue and Qantas will launch fare wars and these almost always give good deals on the major Australian cities including Brissie.
This means that it is now affordable to go from Sydney to Brissie even for a weekend (as I did for a 21st birthday present from my brother!!). |
