I went to Hamilton Island for a short break during the winter months of August. Now that the island is connected to Sydney by JetStar there are some fantastic bargains to be had on the airfare front which leaves you with a little extra to spend on accommodation or activities.
An island well-situated to enjoy all the Whitsaundays have to offer. The resort on this side is the home to all the pools, watersports etc... while over the other side of the island is the marina where you can pick up yachts or catcmarans to go for a sail to find your own island paradise or to join a yacht for a few days or just an evening cruise.
I was there mid-week out of school holidays and there were still ots of kids around. If you don't like to share your holiday with anklebiters the I wouldn't recommend Hamilton - but if are lookinfgfor somewhere to take the kids, I think their "kids stay/play/eat free" thing is a winner! |
