Nambucca as a transit destination...

Nambucca Heads sits on the Mid-North Coast of NSW about 500km north of Sydney.

If you are travelling on the Pacific Highway from Sydney to Brisbane, Nambucca Heads may be a good halfway point for your journey.

There is a good range of accommodation types and services in the town for an overnight stay with about 7 motels and 5 caravan parks. The town also has an RSL club and some restaurants for dining out.

Nambucca as a holiday destination...

Nambucca Heads forms part of a stretch of the NSW Mid-North Coast popular for holiday makers. I have never stayed in the town other than as a transit stop so I cannot comment on facilities for an extended stay.

The main part of the township sits on the bank of the Nambucca River which is a clean and safe river for swimming and fishing.

There are also some beaches a little way out of the town centre which are popular for surfing.

Pros and Cons

Pros:One of the quieter NSW Coastal Towns...get away from the 'hype'
