Couran Cove Resort

Couran Cove is an eco-resort built on South Stradbroke Island - about 45 minutes from the Gold Coast. It basically consists of two types of accommodation, the Marine Resort occupies the area aorund the lagoon and front marina and consists of verying sized apartments (some over-water) and then therre is the Nature Resort set in the rainforest. We stayed in the Nature Resort as it was a bit cheaper but they were great new cabins and hiring bikes gives you the flexibility to get around.

There's heaps to do on the island- more suited to the nature conscious - Couran Cove is not renowned as a party island so you wont find nightclubs etc, but if you enjoy the outdoors there's plenty of activities.

Pros and Cons

Pros:Sun, sand, surf...champagne on the beach - beautiful!
Cons:Just dont leave the resort and there are none!
In a nutshell:Sure beats the cheesy hype of the Gold Coast!
