The ships passing through the locks of the 'Nord-Ostsee-Kanal' at Holtenau - the gateway to the world's busiest artificial waterway, which sailors on the seven seas know simply as 'Kiel Canal' - generate even more activity on the Firth of Kiel.
Every day, the huge ferries from Oslo in Norway and Göteborg in Sweden tie up in the heart of the city. The 'City-centre harbour' is the starting place for numerous cruise liners.

Well, I'm in a German shipping museum again. There are a lot of smaller-bigger shipping museums in the sea-side cities (Wilhelmshaven, Laboe, Flensburg, Bremerhaven etc) in Germany and I like to visit these ones very much.
Opening hours:
10 - 18 every day
from 15th October to 14th April:
10-17 tuesday to saturday
Museumsbrücke closed

Well, I'm in a German shipping museum again. There are a lot of smaller-bigger shipping museums in the sea-side cities (Wilhelmshaven, Laboe, Flensburg, Bremerhaven etc) in Germany and I like to visit these ones very much.

This is not a big aquarium, but it's not so far from the shipping museum, so it doesn't take a so much time to visit it.
