Eger is one of my favourite cities in Hungary. It´s located in the north eastern part of the country and is surrounded by massive mountains and endless forrests.
For hungarians this city is mostly famous for Istvan Dobo who in 1552 managed to resist the turkish army for more than a month.
For foreigners the city of Eger is more famous for it´s firey red wines. Especially Bikaver (Bull´s Blood). But this town has so much more to offer than thermal baths and student life. It is historically and culturelly fascinating!
