You cannot miss it even if you want!!! The basilica of San Marco is the central point of focus when you arrive at the Square. It is the most "exciting" building I have seen. All the paintings inside and all the luxury and the precious stones used for the icons.... I was amazed. They must have had loads of money back then !!!! :-)

Everyone should stay for a while in S.Marks square and trust me you will have many things to talk about afterwards... First of all you will see all the tourists gather there in groups, families and couples. We were very lucky, that weekend, because we had the good weather on our side. It was very sunny so we managed to enjoy the warmth of the sun while seated in the square. The other thing that someone will notice... or cannot avoid to see and come face-to-face, are the pigeons!!! Honestly I thing those birds are specially trainned!!! You think that they will attack on you, but seconds after they realize that you don't carry any kind of food, (seeds) they change course! there are milions (well some hundreds) of them and they also have special stands that some people sell seeds. So every tourist that attempts to feed those birds... becomes a human target of hundreds of birds in seconds!!!! Please stop feeding them!!! they are huge!!!! and most of all they will die from so much food!

Breathtaking tower!!! Very windy as well as it is 60m high. When we were there it was closed because during the winter is unbelievably cold and windy.
