Hills & tunnels

Rushing through the night
Although Ankara is a 'new' town with very few 'ancient' sites, the range of architecture is really exciting.

It is a town of hills and tunnels, but if you enter the tunnels, be sure that you know your way, because there are few signs underground.

It's really difficult to show the steep hills in a photo, but maybe this will give an idea.

sweet delights

Turkey is renowned for turkish delight and baklava. Here is an example.

Architecture

Ankara has such a range of interesting architecture. It could be the subject of a page, if I return and get some good photos.

Pros:"The Turkish delight and baklava can be excellent."
Cons:"The hills are steep if you are old and fat."

Ankara isn't exactly awash with tourist attractions but there are a lot of TEFL jobs at Bilkent University.
