Die Stadt Apolda ist Kreisstadt des Landkreises Weimarer Land, dessen nördlicher Teil auch gern "Toskana des Ostens" genannt wird. Die Stadt Weimar selbst ist kreisfreie Stadt und wird vom Landkreis umschlossen.

 Have just been visting your town on Saturday. The "Olle DDR" museum is brilliant but the Kunsthaus was closed down.
