With a bar named Jane could it be all bad?

Of course I had to take a picture of it... just for the name Jane, alone! However, what was more ironic is that my maiden name was Brown - don't know anything about Matthew Brown, but he was likely a distantly related cousin!

Pros and Cons

Pros:the river, the bars, the people, proximity to Carlisle and the Lake District
Cons:none if you like small towns
In a nutshell:It has it all .. and a bar named Jane's too!!!

As we were walking around Cockermouth, we happened to see some folks practicing the speed kayaking. A very narrow rivers... more travel advice
