Flora of the Blue Mountains I couldn't have been more lucky than to have been driven around the Blue Mountains by a man who loved the area, birds & animals, and the plant life, and who wanted to share his knowledge. |

| | Fauna of the Blue Mountains John had great eyesight to spot what this Canadian didn't see immediately. Thankfully that he did, for otherwise I would've missed seeing a pair of Echidna (spiny ant-eaters, similar to a hedge hog). The brilliant plumage of the Rosella even I could see, and admire. |
Jenolan Caves The Blue Mountains have incredible variety in formations... but not only can you drive over them, enjoy the vistas from them, and the beauty of the flora & fauna... but you can go under them, into the Jenolan Caves. I have never gone into caves before, and could not imagine doing it without the paths, stairs and guide. However, the formations were not to be missed. The magic starts when you drive through the Grand Entrance/Hall and particularly, if you see it lit up at night. The pictures show only 2 of the formations - the lower one called the nostrals. | | | Jenolan Caves - formations |
