Kiama

I've been to Kiama a couple of times... once in August when it was still pretty cool... and the waves were wild and rough... but the sun was out and it was glorious.
Then I returned a couple of times in January when it was hotter and it was still glorious.
Kiama was lovely... and funny that I was the one who brought an Aussie to it, who found he enjoyed it as much as I did.

Got my one and only swim in there... and realised that I am terrified of the big waves, and dealing with an undertow in Salt water. Was only afterwards that I wondered about sharks... was too worried about drowning!

Incredible change from the beach

Kiama shoreline south

This was taken in August 2000, and it reminded me of a scene along the coast of Scotland. Behind me was the bay where the beach was... two totally different shorelines.

Pros and Cons

Pros:A short drive from Sydney, Choice of restaurants
Cons:Busy highway junctions turning in
In a nutshell:Kiama... an escape from Sydney

Blow Hole Things to Do (1)

You must walk down to see the blow hole... but do be careful. There were people wandering beyond the warning signs and... more travel advice

Sounds like you like Kiama too! Have just seen the blowhole at its very best, it was magnificent!

Kiama is a pretty little place. Been through it a few times, usually on the way farther south, but actually stayed there once many years ago.
