?rhus is a pleasant mid-sized city, good for spending perhaps two days to get a good feel for the city. Having been a resident, I can testify that it takes a bit of time to fully appreciate the city's beauty. Despite being over 200,000 people it has an intimate feel, as well as a number of good attractions.
I consider proudly ?rhus as one of my favorite adopted home towns. Called the "smallest big city in the world", it lives up to its name, with a youthful, cosmipolitan atmosphere with a lively caf? culture, good shopping, and a good pedestrian atmosphere. The fact that ?rhus is a university town adds to its appeal.
Many of the photos were taken in January and February. Don't let them scare you off..Århus is not that grey and rainy in the summer! |
| | Latin Quarter The Latin Quarter is the oldest piece of well-preserved Aarhus, with centuries-old buildings, narrow pedestrianized streets, and neat little art galleries and residences. Very peaceful even throughout the day, even Aarhus' Latin Quarter doesn't become mobbed with tourists. |
| | Strøget The strøget is basically the main pedestrianized avenue throughout the center of the city. Lots of shopping, much of which I believe is on par with Copenhagen. Strøget is a good place to go on a Saturday morning to catch the buzz of the week's shoppers and get some great deals. |
