Secrets of Venice

by nicolettart - last update: Oct 20, 2003

Why secrets? You may find some things to do in Venice that seem really off-the beaten path on this page. Maybe even off the wall!
This page reflects two of my three visits to Venice. My husband and I stayed for one month in 1996 and 1997, in an apartment on Giudecca Island. Hope you enjoy my page!

what a HUGE mistake eating here. worst service and worst food in all of Italy (Rome, Florence, Venice).

Rospo does mean "frog", or rather "toad", in Italian, but it also means "monkfish", presumably so-called because the monkfish is so ugly.

Great that you stayed in Venice for a whole month on each visit, so you really had the time to go to all those fascinating mask shops.
