Restaurant Name: Turkistan Asevi

That's an Uygur Restaurant. Uygurs live in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region in China. Uygurs represent one of turk ethnics. And their food is delicious. As I heard in China, in big cities, you can find Uygur Restaurants, and people just love this food.

Favorite Dish: 'Legman' - it's really delicious! It have man-made spagetti, meat, lots vegetables and spices. You can use sticks for this meal.

'Mantu' - Big meat loaf covered with dough. You can eat just two of them and that will be enough. Note that there is a lot of onion in it!

Restaurant Name: AKSARAY Pide ve Borek Salonu

It's just a small cafe with nice ambiance, although I can't say the same thing about the region it is located in. If you happend to be in Aksaray you can try to grab a snack at this place.
And one more thing, people who serve the food are realy nice!
You can choose from:
- Pide's (peynirli - with cheese, kiymali - with meat, patatesli - with potatoes, yumurtali - the big one with meat, vegtables and eggs)
- Borek (also a dough dish with cheese)
- tea, coffee, etc

Favorite Dish: Peynirli pide (with cheese). It's not a special dish or I who knows what delicious thing. It's just the best taste cheese pide I know.

Restaurant Name: Malta Kosku

Actualy that was a pasha's residence before and everything is made in 18th century style. Being in the center of one of the biggest and beautiful parks in Istanbul and having a view to Bosphorus and Kiz Kulesi makes this MALTA KOSKU unfogetable place!
You can try here realy nice dishes for small prices (because it's owned by the state).

Favorite Dish: You can try 'Karisik Izgara' (ı guess it's about 6 dishes of meal at once), also 'Malta Kebabi'.
For the desert you MUST TRY - 'Profiterol Tahinli'. That's the only place you can try this! And instead of chocolate cream which is usualy served with profiterol you'll have susam-made cream (tahinli).

Oz Sut / Sefer Usta 1938.

Modern style cafe where several desserts of any type are served including some local desserts (traditional turkish) like: Gullac, Su Boregi (Cheese Pastry). But the main part still consist of: puddings, eclares and cakes. Also profiterol, meringue, mousse, ganache! And all that wih fruits, nuts, chocolate. So if you are dessert addicted or just like sweet things try this place.
Desserts are around 1,5 - 2,0 USD / piece.

Favorite Dish: The thing I like here is coffee. They make great coffee. And of course the menu for coffee's is same big as for desserts. Lavazoo, Vergnano, Capucinno, Turkish Coffee and Filtered Coffee are very nice here! You will pay for a cup of coffee around 1,5 USD.

Restaurant Name: Pierre Loti Cafe

Everyone (or almost everyone) know about this cafe on the hill in Eyup with a magnificant view.
Once this old Turkish coffee house was regulary frequented by the French writer Pierre Loti. Thats where the name come from.
And he choose the nice place if you ask me, but don't take my word for it. Go check it for yourself! :)

Favorite Dish: In a nice ambience everything taste good! :)

Oh, by the way...
Don't be surprised to find out that it's surrounded by graves, or we can say its in the cemetery... So you have a chance to see a Turkish cemetery too! :) The grave of Turkish impressionist Avni Lifij is also here.

Restaurant Name: Barcelona Restaurant

If would were to choose only one place to eat in Istanbul, that would be the place.

I have no idea why they called an italian restaurant Barcelona, but that make no difference, the food is still great. And still the most of the food is italian you will find international cuisine recepies too and really good made turkish deserts. In fact they have a patisserie right there called "Barcelona" too.

Favorite Dish: Various pizza's:
try the one's with Artichoke and Asparagus

They also make nice lazagnia.

and of course all sorts of spaghetti's and tortellini's, tagliatelle... with bolognese or beshamel...

Meal dishes are also good, try Mexico Steak or Barcelona Champion (varous kinds of meat - this is turkish).

And you can start for appetisers with Garlic Bread (if you like it :)

And the deserts are all good - profiterol, franbuaz, baklava, shekerpare, serfurkes, shobiyet...
