Canada - Through the Rockies - May 2007 Finally fulfilled one of my ambitions and that was to travel through the Rockies on the Rocky Mountaineer Train. Great experience. Arrived in Calgary and traveled to Banff then onto Jasper and onto the Rocky Mountaineer Train. Overnight stay at Kamloops and then into Vancouver for a couple of nights relaxation. Scenery stunning both in the Rockies and in the Coastal mountains. Great canyons to magnificent glaciers. Fantastic viewing of many animals and birds along the way from Bears and Coyotes to Bald Eagles to Deer. A trip of discovery! |

Dubai - December 2006 Only time for a brief glance at Dubai but visited the Creek area and a traditional Souk. Visited in December so the weather was excellent - not too hot. Walked along the Dubai Creek - People very friendly and open. |
Kalamazoo - America September 2006 Visited Kalamazoo in September but spent the weekend at South Harbour by Lake Michigan. Very picturesque and the museum concerning the British/American sea conflict during the battle for Independence was superb The short business visit has fired me up to return and take the Lake Michigan circle tour one day |
Lanzarote May 2006 This was our sun holiday in 2006. Beautiful island full of interesting and unexpected things. The capital Arrecife was particularly interesting with its pirate stronghold and interesting churches. We visited the caves, the volcanic areas and the interior towns. We were particularly impressed with César Manrique home built in volcanic bubbles. |
