"Thailand trip 2000" Thailand by wilda08

First we came flew to Phuket from Stockholm, but we only stayed one night. The second day we took a flight to Chiang Mai (way up north).
It's really worth the extra money to leave Phuket and fly up to Chiang Mai.If you want to spend your days at a beach, stay in Phuket.
We stayed there for one week and we got to see alot of different places in and around Chiang Mai. If you go there, check out the zoo...it's gigantic.
After one week we flew to Bankok for three days. We did the normal tourist things. Didn't really like it, too crowded and too much smog, but atleast we've tried it and we've been there.
After that we went back to Phuket (Patong) for one night. The day after we took a boat out to Phi Phi Island.
Much more relaxing than Patong beach.
We stayed in a bungalow at the P.P.Princess resort.
We had one week of doing nothing but swiming,snorkling and eating good food. One day we rented a tailboat and went to Maya Bay, the place where they filmed "The Beach"
We took a one-day trip to Crabi aswell.
If you go to Thailand, try to get away from the beaches in Phuket, there are so many other places that is so much better....atleast I think so.

• Pros:Good food, lots of fun and cheap shopping, intresting culture
• Cons:Bankok's smog and the crowded beaches in Phuket
• In a nutshell:It's really worth a visit!
